McMahon Truck Centers in Indianapolis is the only Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer in central Indiana. “The most significant part of being a Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer is understanding the value of a downed truck,” said Jeff Timperman, General Manager of McMahon Truck Centers, Indianapolis.
When your truck needs repair, you need to know the status as soon as possible, to make plans and avoid lost revenue. That’s where being a Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer comes in.
The Certified Uptime process is designed to get you the information you need faster and get your truck back on the road sooner. “You get a bird’s eye view of the status of your truck,” said Timperman. “Sometimes you get news you don’t want to know but you need to know.”
No matter the repair news, the Volvo Certified Uptime process streamlines truck repair. Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer shops all include fast-lane Uptime Bays – and integrate all communications via the ASIST service management platform. Here’s how the Volvo Certified Uptime process works.
Easy Check-in
- You can drive right in, no appointment needed.
- Your service advisor performs a walk-around and accesses your vehicle’s data.
- A code read and support from ASIST are integrated here, to speed up check-in.
- The clear, constant communication with you starts here as well.
Initial Diagnostics
- Your truck’s initial diagnostics are completed within two hours of arrival.
- You can start making decisions about your truck, driver, and load early in the repair process.
Uptime Bay
- Every Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer has a fast-lane Uptime Bay for repairs that take less than four labor hours.
- If your truck’s initial diagnostics indicate a quick repair, your truck stays in the Uptime Bay for service.
- Volvo Certified Uptime Dealers use ASIST to efficiently manage the timeline and all communications.
Advanced Diagnostics
- Trucks needing more than 45 minutes of diagnostic time transition to the advanced diagnostics area.
- Longer diagnostics don’t back up the Uptime Bay.
- ASIST helps streamline your truck’s repair by keeping all communication in one place, including status alerts and approvals.
When the Andy Mohr Truck Center of Indianapolis became part of McMahon Truck Centers, they had to be reconfirmed as a Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer. According to Timperman, the inspector was impressed and called the Indianapolis truck center a “state-of-the-art facility.”
Timperman said being part of McMahon Truck Centers enhances the Volvo Certified Uptime truck repair service they provide. “When you’ve got a big group to lean on, it allows you to provide better customer service. It’s a total team effort. We have a wealth of experience.”
Customers on runs from Chicago to Florida stop in Indianapolis at the McMahon Truck Centers for service because they know they can trust the center, said Timperman. “We want an opportunity to earn a customer’s business. When they’re in the sleeper business they make a point to stop in Indy to get service done. They’re looking for honesty.”
“Anybody can sell trucks. Where the value is, when they have a problem, we need to be a problem fixer. The McMahon group is able to be a real problem solver for the customer,” said Timperman.
