The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) has announced the recipients of its Industry Scholarship Program, which is a nationwide scholarship program, that assists current students studying in the vocational industry. McMahon Truck Centers is proud to announce one of the recipients is Edward Chambers of our Charlotte location.
“By awarding … these scholarships, we are supporting the future of our industry,” said Jake Jacoby, President and CEO of TRALA. He continued, “By giving worthy students the necessary funds to help continue their education in maintenance technology, it helps not only the individual member company, but our entire industry.”
“We are pleased and excited that Edward, or EJ, as he is known, was awarded this scholarship,” says Mike McMahon, President and CEO of McMahon Truck Centers. “To build the future of our industry we need more students in our industry. I am proud to be a member of TRALA and proud of their support of students in maintenance technology and truck transportation.”
EJ was thrilled upon learning of the scholarship as Mike, and his brother Brad McMahon, searched him out in the maintenance shop upon learning of the award. EJ said, “I am thankful to receive this scholarship and to work for a company like McMahon Truck Centers, which supports me in my education and my future.”
The TRALA Industry Scholarship has awarded scholarships to TRALA-member company employees or their children that are planning to pursue vocational training as maintenance technicians or are seeking a 4-year degree in the truck transportation industry. Scholarship recipients each receive up to $5,000 in scholarships over two years if the minimum grade point average is maintained. Since the inception of the vocational scholar program, TRALA has awarded over 50 scholarships.
