Indianapolis McMahon Truck Centers (Formerly Andy Mohr) Ready to Welcome the All-New Volvo VNL

Feb 16, 2024 | McMahon Truck Centers Indianapolis

On January 23, 2024, Volvo announced the all-new Volvo VNL, completely redesigned from the ground up to set new industry standards in heavy-duty trucking. Volvo announced that their new truck is “designed to change everything” including improving customer value, driver productivity, safety, and sustainability:

  • Aerodynamic and powertrain breakthroughs create up to a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency over Volvo’s previous model.
  • Multiple driving environment improvements make a driver’s job easier.
  • Volvo pulls even further ahead in creating a comfortable, productive living environment.
  • Volvo’s latest safety innovations confirm their longstanding leadership in safety.
  • The Volvo VNL is the most connected truck in the industry. One login gives you one holistic view.

Jeff Timperman, General Manager of McMahon Truck Centers in Indianapolis, thinks everything about the new Volvo VNL will excite customers. “Volvo is a leader in new technology in regard to safety, aerodynamics, and fuel savings. These are all the things customers are looking for. Volvo is on the cutting edge of this technology.”

Timperman also expects the Volve VNL truck’s fuel-efficient, aerodynamic new design and roomy living area will appeal strongly to owner/operators. “Owner/operators are very conscious of their curb appeal. We believe they’ll see value in this because this new truck will set their business apart from the competition. Plus, one of the things that Volvo does better than anyone else is design the cab space.”

Timperman described how features in the cab’s living area fold away when not in use. “It is really a smart way to do this. It creates a lot of volume in the cab area, which is what you need if you’re going to live in it.”

The new Volvo VNL trucks will probably arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. The McMahon team in Indianapolis has already done the Volvo VNL training, so interested customers can ask questions and plan ahead. McMahon Truck Centers will receive all the Volvo VNL’s parts and special tools at the same time as the trucks, so truck repair and service will be seamless. “Don’t want you to need a new door panel and wait seven months,” said Timperman.

Indianapolis McMahon Truck Centers is the only authorized Volvo truck dealer in central Indiana, as well as the only Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer. So, the development of such an industry-leading new Volvo truck means a great deal to them. “We feel this will be a real game changer for us,” said Timperman.
